Plastic surgeons face multiple challenges in everyday practice, such as managing patient expectations, handling patient complaints and requests for refunds and waivers, and incorporating new communication channels, such as social media. This program touches on all of these topics and provides plastic surgeons with informative case studies, lessons learned from litigation, and risk management strategies.

  • Discuss the importance of patient selection criteria and screening for body dysmorphic disorder (BDD).
  • Identify risk-reduction strategies to address unrealistic patient expectations, patient complaints, and requests for refunds/waivers.
  • Identify best practices for managing social media and advertising risks.
