Program Details

Disruptive behavior in healthcare has the potential to harm patients, staff, providers, and organizations. This program will help physicians understand how disruptive behavior affects patient care and professional practice. It will also help physicians learn how to be aware of possible disruptive behaviors in themselves, peers, and staff. Effective strategies are presented in this program to assist physicians in addressing disruptive behaviors to minimize any potential risk.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify three different types of disruptive behavior
  2. Describe the potential effects that disruptive behavior can have on patient care and professional practice
  3. Recognize behaviors in themselves, peers, and/or staff that might be considered disruptive behavior
  4. Implement effective strategies to address disruptive behaviors when encountered in the workplace
